Jon and Sue Marsden and their family came to South Metro when it was called Victory Fellowship in 1979. They began their leadership journey by working with children. Sue directed the nursery ministry for the entire 10 years they were here! Jon was given the great privilege of serving as Associate Pastor for 7 years.

They were sent out by the Holy Spirit and Victory Vineyard (now SMV) in the fall of 1990 to plant River Heights Vineyard in Inver Grove Heights. They had the privilege of leading RHV for 24 years. They turned the Lead Pastor responsibility over to Peter Benedict in 2015 and served on his staff for 5 years. Jon and Sue retired from being Staff Pastors in March 2020. Jon then served as Interim Pastor at Mercy Vineyard in Minneapolis from Fall 2019 to March 2021 and at SMV in 2023.

Jon grew up in West Central MN. He got his BA degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where he began to experience a lifelong relationship with Jesus. He received training at Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia. Jon and Sue were Area Leaders in the Vineyard for over 20 years. They co-lead Vineyard Partners Central Mexico and have worked with dear friends in Mexico for over 25 years.

Jon and Sue have 6 children and 14 grandchildren! For fun, Jon loves to play card games and board games with friends, his kids, and his grandkids. He loves to go to movies and watch his grandkids play sports! He is also a very devoted, sometimes suffering, and always “hopeful” Twins fan!
