Children’s Ministry Job Summary
Manages the children’s ministry in establishing curricula and recruiting leaders and volunteers to equip and train the children to live and love like Jesus according to God’s Word.
Part-time: Approximately 15 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees all programming and ministry for children (infants through 5th grade) including Sunday mornings, summer programming, Vacation Bible School, and special events
Recruits, trains, deploys and nurtures leaders and volunteers to equip the children for God’s Kingdom by developing attributes of worship, outreach, reading of God’s Word, hands-on ministry and servanthood
Develops training and teaching workshops for those serving in the Children’s Ministry of SMVC
Works as a team member with the pastoral staff to integrate and harmonize the Children’s Ministry with the church vision
Clearly communicates the vision and mission of the Children’s Ministry to the Council, volunteers and members of the congregation
Produces a harmonious, exciting, smooth running Children’s Ministry that inspires children and parents to participate in continual discipleship development within the church
Establishes and meets meaningful and measurable goals that have been agreed upon with the Lead Pastor
Creates and manages the Children’s Ministry budget
Create a culture of ever increasing excellence and safety for the Children’s Ministry.
Oversees and utilizes our check-in system to ensure a smooth experience for parents and safe experience for children.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma plus three years related experience and/or training working with children. Proficient student of the Bible.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and speak effectively with pastors, Ministry Team, parents and most importantly children.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to prepare an annual budget for Children’s Ministry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to remain focused on vision and direction.
